WHEN VIOLET AND LIME COLLIDE

What do you do to keep yourself warm in a cold office? Like lots of other women, I leave a neutral color sweater and shawl on my seat for chilly days. I must admit though, the sweater and shawl are not exactly the most beautiful items I have. They're just there for practical reasons with aesthetics much lower down on the list. When I first saw this jacket, I knew I need it. It is of a longer length compared to my usual jackets, and the violet color is an interesting addition to my wardrobe. I also love the draping and cuff details on the sleeves. It's one of those items that you can simply throw over your existing outfit and immediately add more style and attitude to it. Now I can keep warm and look good at the same time!

NINJA WARRIOR

When all else fails, go for black! Black doesn't have to be boring or predictable though. To keep an all black outfit from looking bland and flat, I picked a top with an interesting neckline and wore it with a pair of pleated pants that taper towards the ankle. I also like how the waistline and pockets are decorated with leather trimmings. Add a pop of color to the outfit with a red bag and finish off the look with leopard pumps. Now I'm all ready to fight through the working day!

SHEER ABSTRACT

In this scorching hot weather, I naturally reached out for a light breezy dress. I've had this dress for a number of years but I never get sick of it. It's extremely comfortable and easy to wear, and yet has that bit of edginess that commands a second look. The ruching and unique tailoring details, together with the sheer fabric, brings about a very interesting dimensional effect to the piece. I'll definitely still be wearing this in the years to come!

SIMPLE PLEASURES

One of the ways I like to pamper myself is with a spa visit. On my last birthday, I checked out Espa at Sentosa and tried out their salt and oil scrub. It turned out to be the best scrub I've ever tried. Not only was it gentle on my sensitive skin, it was so moisturising that I can still feel its effect days after.

On my last trip to London, I was unwittingly coerced into a Soap & Co store. The salesperson had me try their salt scrub and I was instantly bowled over - it felt just like the salt and oil scrub at Espa. Needless to say, I bought a bottle and have been using it since on a weekly basis. The sea salt was derived from the dead sea, and enriched with grape seed and sweet almond oils. My skin feels buttery smooth after each use and I can see clear improvement in problem areas such as the elbows and knees. 

It's a simple and easy indulgence we can all enjoy in the comforts of our own home every week!

GO WITH THE FLOW

I've a number of skinny pants in my wardrobe, because they're so easy to wear. But once in a while, I like to put on this pair of slightly wide, boot legged pale pink pants. It goes really nicely with this handkerchief-ish white silk top to give a soft and elegant silhouette. The top has some ruching details around the collar to add interest, yet keeps it simple enough to easily coordinate with other bottoms.

GET GIRLY

Girly outfits are not usually my type of thing, but I couldn't resist picking up this mustard skirt when I was in Tokyo. Guess I got inspired by all the kawaii dressing in Japan! I also love how this navy blue top works the lace details in without looking overly feminine. To complete the outfit, I added a pair of sleek patent peep toes to make the ensemble look more grown up.

NOT SO NUDE

Dressing up from head to toe in nude shades doesn't mean we have to look dull. In fact, it's one of the easiest way to put together a classy look. Good quality, classic nude pieces are worthy investment items that can last you for years. Look out for details in texture that differentiates it from the rest and complete the look with a simple yet elegant necklace. I also love these nude shoes with spikes which helps to  jazz up and add some edge to the ensemble!
